Who’s in the Sluice ?
Purveyors of Creativity•
Community • Culture
The goal of The Sluice is to transform a forgotten historic building into a thriving ecosystem of business, retail, and creative culture for our city. It will house a creative community providing affordable work space, craft goods, design, art, and good vibes to locals and visitors alike.
The Sluice is a nod to the building’s past and our vision for its future. 2752 W. Colorado Ave. was originally built as a General Store to provide mining supplies and goods to early pioneers. A sluice is a device used in separating and recovering gold in running water.
Why the Sluice?
We hope to “filter the gold” in people by providing a space for a creative and inclusive community where all are welcome, and safe, to hone their craft. Artist and business members have access to a workshop, break room, and meeting rooms. An open- to-the public tiered seating area is available for rent for events such as small concerts, lunch-talks, performance-based art, literary events and overflow seating for the cafe.
We are a creative community that provides workspace, craft goods, design, art and good vibes to locals and visitors alike.
